Fred Harris is a Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno. He came to the University of Nevada after earning his PhD in Computer Science from Clemson University in South Carolina. His research has focused on the areas of parallel and distributed computing, computer graphics, virtual reality and he has an extensive list of co-authors. He has served in the past as the Interim Director of the Center for Advanced Visualization, Computation, and Modeling at the Desert Research Institute in Reno, NV and is presently the director of the High Performance Computation and Visualization Lab at the University of Nevada.
